Rock Hall, Voinivich Park and other Downtown Shots

Hi everyone this is a last minute shoot suggested by Vicki, we are going to try and get some late afternoon and sunset shots from Voinivich Park, located behind the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. We will be meeting on Sunday 11/22 at 3:30pm and everyone is welcome. Hope to see you there.

Favorite Fall Color Spots - Tinkers Creek NP

October is here and the leaves are beginning to change, so I thought I would post some of my favorite places for Fall Color photography.

First up is Tinker's Creek Nature Preserve



The reason I like Tinker's Creek is because of all the ponds located in the preserve, you can get some great reflection shots of the fall colors by following the Seven Ponds trail.

Note the parking lot is pretty small and only holds about 6 cars.

Battle on the Ohio - Erie Canal Civil War Reenactment - Zoar, Ohio

For those photographer's out there who are Civil War Buffs, they are having a Civil War Reenactment in Zoar, Ohio on September 19th and 20th.

Cost is $7.00 for spectators.

Artillery Demonstration
Battle of Ohio-Erie Canal
and much more...

A Day in the Park - Cuyahoga Valley National Park 8/30/2009

Hey Everyone, here's something cool to do on Sunday August 30th - A Day in the Park at the Happy Days Visitor Center in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Here's some info from the WVIZ website:

Beginning at 10:00 AM Sunday, August 30, amateur and professional photographers -- as well as those who just love the outdoors -- are invited to a special day at Happy Days Lodge (500 W. Streetsboro Road, Peninsula, OH 44264) to hear tips and remarks from local park photographers, and to take photographs and videos of our own Ohio treasure, the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Photographs and video can include all park scenery, recreation, transportation and wildlife -- all aspects of our own Park. ideastream® staff will be on hand to receive photographic and video submissions as part of A Day in the Park. Later those submissions along with previously submitted materials will be reviewed. Those selected showcasing our nearby national park will be viewed online or featured on WVIZ/PBS.

Veterans Memorial Bridge Tour 9/5/2009

Here's another great Photo Op over the Labor Day weekend - a self guided tour of the Veterans Memorial Bridge (aka Detroit Superior Bridge) The bottom part of this bridge was used for Trolley traffic over the Cuyahoga River in the Flats. I've done the tour about 3 or 4 times and its a great place to photograph Cleveland history. They'll have displays of old trolley cars and you can even see the old tracks in the ground. You can also get some great views of the Flats from the bridge. So if your looking for something different to shoot on Saturday Sept 5th check out the Veterans Memorial Bridge.

When: Saturday, Sept 5, 2009

Times: Open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Location: Northeast Corner of W. 25th Street &

Detroit Avenue, at the west end of the bridge.

FREE parking is available at the County Engineer’s

Bridge Garage, which is located at the tour’s entrance.

Cost: FREE

Other:
 No reservations

 Self guided tour with volunteers on hand

to answer questions

 Wheelchair & stroller accessible

 Cameras are welcome

 Attractions include films, trolley displays,

streetcar, and a unique view of the area
